As we all know cats are very clean animals and they will not just put up with anything. If you decide to have one as a pet, you need to know your duties and responsibilities.
If you notice that your cat is peeing outside the litter box, she is not doing that for no reason. It means that something is definitely wrong, and it’s up to you to find the reason.
If you have a male cat, it is important for you to know that once they are adults, they have tendency to mark their territory. Marking the territory is similar to urinating, only much worse, because it smells like hell and you cannot get rid of that smell so easy.
So you make sure to castrate your cat as soon as he turns 6 or 7 months, because you don’t want to have any problems with marking, plus you will save your cats life, because he will not act like a lunatic while chasing a female cat.
Sometimes cats can urinate outside of the box when they have a problem with bladder. It can be any sort of inflammation, so if you see that your cat cannot control it, visit your vet immediately.
Like we said, cats are very clean, so if you don’t clean their litter box they may pee outside of the box just to make a small protest and let you know that you cannot be messy when it comes to their toilet.
Also your cat can do it if she changes the environment, space or has a new family member. It may upset her and that’s when she’ll start urinating outside of the litter box. Whatever might be the reason, just make sure to find out.
